Saaj
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Saaj (previously OmniCloset) is a personal wardrobe app: a private digital closet, an AI stylist, and (optionally) a way to share looks with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. We keep it short and specific to what the app actually does.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email, name, and username, used to create and secure your account.
- Style profile — the onboarding answers you give about your preferences (e.g. favourite colours, style icons), used to personalise outfit suggestions.
- Optional personal details — some fields you can choose to add, such as your date of birth and your skin tone (complexion). These are optional, used only to tailor styling suggestions to you, and are never sold or used for advertising. You can leave them blank or change them anytime in your profile.
- Your wardrobe — the clothing items you add: photos you upload, plus details like brand, category, colour, size, price, and notes. If you import past orders from a retailer (Zara, Myntra, H&M, Ajio, Nykaa Fashion, Westside), this also includes the receipt or order details and purchased pieces you choose to import.
- Usage within the app — outfits you build, items you mark as worn, and feedback you give the stylist, used to show your history and improve suggestions.
- Optional phone notifications. If you enable them, we link your device notification token, installation identifier, platform and delivery status to your account to send upload-ready alerts. You can turn notifications off in your phone settings.
- Precise location (optional) — if you allow it, your device's coordinates are used to look up local weather for outfit suggestions. See “Location” below.
- iOS waitlist details — your email address, country code, phone number, and optional feature interests, used only to manage iOS access and send you related availability updates.
We do not collect payment information, we do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We do use privacy-respecting product analytics (PostHog) and crash reporting (Sentry) to understand how the app is used and to catch bugs, as described below.
How we use your information
We use your data to operate the app: to store and display your wardrobe, generate AI outfit suggestions, show your history, and (if you opt in) let approved friends see your closet. We do not sell your personal data.
Location
If you grant location permission, your device's precise latitude and longitude are used to fetch current weather and your city name. They are precise rather than rounded: we send about four decimal places. The coordinates are sent to weather and reverse-geocoding services (Open-Meteo and BigDataCloud) at the moment you use the feature and are not stored in our database. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the app still works without it.
Closet videos, and your voice
You can film your closet instead of photographing each piece. If you do, the video is uploaded and sent to Google's Gemini AI, which picks out the individual garments in it.
That includes the sound. The app asks for the microphone because filming is more useful when you say the brand and size out loud instead of typing them, so the audio track goes with the video and Gemini transcribes what you said in order to read those details off it. We keep the details it produces and the transcript with the temporary import job so you can review the result. The transcript is deleted when that import job is deleted. We do not record audio anywhere else in the app.
The video itself is stored in a private bucket while it is being processed and is not part of your wardrobe once the pieces have been pulled out of it.
AI and assisted search processing
None of the processing in this section happens until you accept the Saaj Agreement. Before anything is sent, we show you what will be shared, which provider will receive it, and why. This processing powers the app's core wardrobe, stylist and shopper experience. If you do not accept, or later withdraw the agreement, you cannot use the authenticated app; you can still read these legal documents, sign out, or ask us to delete your account.
Photo safety screening. Before an uploaded photo enters your closet or is sent for clothing recognition, Google Cloud Vision checks it for clearly explicit or violent imagery. We reject only a highest-confidence adult or violence result; a “racy” result by itself is not rejected. A rejected photo is not added to your closet, and you can try a tighter crop or a different photo.
Clothing photos. To recognise a piece and fill in details such as its category, colour and material, its photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI, or to Anthropic's Claude if Gemini is unavailable. Gemini is also used for optional image clean-up, enhancement and flat-lay generation.
Stylist, Shopper and travel planning. We send your closet as text, your style profile, the relevant conversation, shopping questions and trip details to Anthropic's Claude, or to Google's Gemini for the lower-cost styling tier. This lets those features suggest outfits, pieces and packing plans. These text-based chats do not send your clothing photographs unless the particular feature asks you to choose a photo.
Generated trip inspiration. When you choose this optional feature, we send a short search query made from the destination, dates, trip type, activities and likely weather to Serper, which returns Google Shopping results. Gemini chooses coherent combinations from the returned product details, and the app lays out the matching catalogue images as complete looks. We do not send those images or your wardrobe photographs to Gemini for this deck.
Photos of you. When you ask for a Fit Check, the outfit photograph you choose is sent to Anthropic's Claude, because judging the fit means looking at it. If you turn on virtual try-on, the full-length photograph you choose is sent to Google's Gemini so it can render how a look would sit on you.
Closet videos and receipts. A closet walkthrough video, including its audio track if you narrate it, is sent to Google's Gemini to identify the garments and transcribe details such as brand and size. The garment observations and the details you narrate are saved separately as notes on the pieces you keep. A store receipt photo or purchase details you choose to import may also be sent to Gemini so it can read the purchased pieces and place them in the right closet categories.
Withdrawing the agreement prevents new AI requests and stops Saaj from continuing queued AI work. It cannot recall a request an AI provider has already received. Because AI processing is required for the core service, withdrawing also closes the authenticated app until you accept the current agreement again. To withdraw, open Profile → Edit profile → Saaj Agreement and select Withdraw agreement, or email omnicloset.ai@gmail.com; you can also permanently delete your account in the app.
Who we share data with (service providers)
We rely on a small set of service providers who process data on our behalf to run the app:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and photo storage (where your account and wardrobe live).
- Google Forms — collection and storage of iOS waitlist responses, including the contact details and interests you submit.
- Vercel — application hosting and standard server logs.
- Anthropic (Claude) — the AI Stylist, Fit Check (including the outfit photograph), text-based Closet, Shopper and travel assistance, and clothing photo analysis when Gemini is unavailable.
- Google Cloud Vision — safety screening for user-uploaded photographs before they enter the closet.
- Google (Gemini) — clothing photo analysis and optional image processing and generation, virtual try-on, narrated closet-video analysis and transcription, receipt and purchase-detail reading, and styling suggestions.
- Serper — Google Shopping search results used for Shopper suggestions and the optional generated trip-inspiration deck.
- Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. These deliver optional phone notifications using device tokens. Alerts do not include your garment photos, garment names or email address.
- Open-Meteo & BigDataCloud — weather and city lookup from your coordinates, only when you use location.
- PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics (which features are used, so we can improve the app). Not used for advertising or for tracking you across other apps.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting, so we can find and fix bugs.
Retailer order imports (Zara, Myntra, H&M, Ajio, Nykaa Fashion, Westside) run from your own logged-in session on those sites, at your request; we only receive the receipt, order and product details you choose to import. We do not receive your retailer login or payment-card details. If an import uses Gemini to read or categorise that information, it only does so after you have agreed to AI processing as described above.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Danger zone → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your entire wardrobe and outfits, your history, friend connections, and your uploaded photos, and deletes your login. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
We keep iOS waitlist details while the waitlist and access rollout are active, or until you ask us to remove them by emailing omnicloset.ai@gmail.com.
We do not use what you share to train an Saaj model. Once a request has been sent to Anthropic or Google, their handling and retention of it are governed by the applicable provider terms and the service configuration used by Saaj. Turning off AI processing or deleting your account does not retrieve requests a provider has already received or immediately erase them from its operational records.
Security
Your data is stored with our hosting and database providers using industry-standard protections.
Your photographs are private to your account. They are held in storage that will not serve them to an anonymous request, and every read is checked against the account that owns them. The app fetches them through short-lived links issued to you; someone who is not signed in, or who is signed in as someone else, gets nothing. An earlier version of this policy described photo storage as restricted to the app when in fact the files were readable by anyone holding the link, and that has been corrected in the product as well as here.
No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Saaj is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do, and significant changes will be communicated in the app.
